PSYCHOLOGICAL ASPECTS OF TRANSSEXUALITY

This book is a study about the psychosexual development of transsexuals. The intention is to try to understand how this process of discovering the sexuality of these individuals occurs and how the possible violence suffered by them can be characterized. The general objective of this study is to analyze the relationships between trans people and society as a whole, bringing reflections about sexual development. To do so, a bibliographical research was carried out, with the purpose of igniting a discussion about human sexuality and the definition of the transsexual person, bringing a little of the psychoanalytic view about the theme. It also identifies the main causes of their psychological suffering and brings some elements and procedures that serve as mitigation of this suffering experienced by them. Thus, we reflect on the relevance of this theme for the strengthening of the studies of transsexuality and sexuality in the view of these subjects, and how this can contribute to the denaturalization of preconceived prejudices in our socialization process.
