Protection of Human Rights in Cyberspace in Tanzania: Law & Practice

Well, the concept of human rights is well known worldwide. As the fact that, from the first day of human existence such rights were given to him. By the act of being a human being, such rights have been endowed to us. As generations transformed from one generation to another, the trend of human rights also change as the technology change as it influenced them. Currently the world experiences huge challenges on how to protect these human rights as the result of the introduction of the new world known as cyberspace created by the internet, and its citizen known as netizens. This new world because of its nature has created a new arena which simplified for others to infringe human rights of others. To welcome this new world and new challenges, a new regulation, policy, and legislations must be enacted so as to cover crimes committed in this new world. In 2015, Tanzanian Parliament enacted the new Cyber Crime Act, No.14 which among other thing, aimed at protecting human rights which have been infringed online for a long time without legal assistance. This book aims at showing the legal positions of this new law to a new world and new challenges in protecting human rights in Tanzania.
