Programmable controllers

The Programmable Logical Controller (PLC) is an important element of system of automation in the modern industrial enterprise. Control systems with the use of PLC allow creating the effective system of monitoring and management on production due to full automation of technological processes. For PLC programming, standardized languages available for general use are used. The software quality requirements are very high, the program of control has to be clear to the technical specialist who is carrying out maintenance and repair of equipment, therefore the training of highly qualified specialists in the field of automatic and automated control is an actual task. The tutorial is intended for university students studying disciplines related to programmable controllers of automatic and automated control systems. The tutorial provides basic information on programming languages for LAD (ladder diagram), FBD (function block diagram), and STL (statement list) controllers. Examples of application and practical programming of industrial controllers are given.
