PREVALENCE OF MENTAL DISORDERS IN MEDICAL PATIENTS

A great majority of people who suffer from health difficulties and physical ailments, assume that the illness is only physical, so they go to the doctor. However, the present investigation intends to know what percentage of that population who visit the doctor regularly, also present mental disorders such as depression, anxiety, psychosis, convulsions and alcoholism. In the light of the results, it was found that one third of the population of patients of outpatient clinics of medicine at least presents indicators of a psychological disorder, with their respective variants according to each dimension, sex, age, marital status, education and according to their occupations. The present research work will be very useful for you as a reference regarding the mental health of the population.
