Prescriptions in Orthodontics

A prescription (¿) is a health-care program implemented by a physician or other medical practitioner in the form of instructions that govern the plan of care for an individual patient. The word "prescription" can be decomposed into "pre" and "script" and literally means, "to write before" a drug can be prepared. Medical prescriptions usually carry a particular type of drug which is primarily aimed at eliminating the causative microbial agent or for the relief of symptoms. The set of characteristic values (in degrees) for the mesiodistal tip (angulation), buccolingual inclination (torque), & rotational offset, which are incorporated into each bracket for every individual tooth.
