Poultry production under different management systems

The book "Performance and cost benefit analysis of Isa Brown laying birds reared under different management systems" was written to promote the humane methods of poultry production. The European Council ruled out the use of battery cages because of the welfare problems it poses on the health of poultry birds. Although battery cages help in space maximization, deep litter and free range management systems recorded the best and profitable methods of poultry production with little capital and high profit margin. This method can therefore be adopted by backyard poultry farmers with smaller sizes of flock, which would still help in achieving their goals of providing animal protein for the consumption of their nuclear and extended families.
