Potent Anticonvulsant Agents

Anticonvulsants are the drugs used in the treatment of experimentally produced seizers and antiepileptic are drugs used medically to control the epilepsies. Epilepsy is a disease due to central nervous system disorder which is characterized by seizures and convulsion or other abnormal body movements with loss of disorder of consciousness The purpose of research involving the synthesis of a series of novel derivatives for their anticonvulsant activity . The anticonvulsant activity of the synthesized compounds was established after intraperitoneal administration in mice which include maximal electroshock seizure. The chemical structure of the compounds were proved by spectral analysis IR analysis and 1H- NMR study The most active compounds were L3 ,L7 , L8 while compound with lesser activity were L1,L5 ,L6 Most active compound L8 was most potent among all the synthesized semicarbazone .
