Polymer-Clay Nanocomposites for Drug Delivery Systems

This book is devoted to studying some potential applications of polymer-montmorillonite nanocomposites as drug carrier and antimicrobial materials. It covers some types of polymers used in the preparation of montmorillonite nanocomposites. The morphology of the polymer nanocomposites is discussed along with the release results as well as the antimicrobial activity of the polymers themselves. The limited data available on the in vivo study of the nanocomposites is also presented.Healing power of the nanocomposites in burn infection is explained. The work will guide researchers to know the hierarchical structure and characteristics of montmorillonite, general methods of preparation polymer-clay nanocomposites, better ways to deliver the drugs and study nanocomposites that own miracle cure of burn infection timely and effectively.
