POLICE CONTINUING EDUCATION PROGRAMS

The current information society presents us with a scenario in which Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) have a strongly marked protagonism, from which the field of education is not exempt. The development of this scenario makes possible the emergence of new educational formulas, among which we can find non-classical methodologies such as b-learning or e-learning, which are rarely applied to military and police systems.Based on the global changes, this paper seeks to analyze the possibilities that e-learning tools offer to training processes, in the specific case of the continuous improvement processes of the Officers of the National Police of Uruguay (PNU), by exploring in depth the different educational models that are developed around the information society and the influence it has on education and new training strategies. The last contextual step to which we refer in this work is the design of a proposal of continuing education in e-learning modality for the National Police of Uruguay.
