The efficiency of the systems of movement of materials provides the reduction of the need for labor and, consequently, the reduction of costs. One of the basic principles of storage is the planning which consists in previously evaluating the storage area before accepting a certain lot to be stored, verifying the existence of effective physical and technical conditions to receive, store, control and adequately deliver the materials, observing nature, fiscal documentation, weight, volume and unit dimensions, handling and safety characteristics. The need for agility in the process of receipt, handling, collection and dispatch of materials within the warehouses stands out as a restriction for the optimization of time. Wide aisles are required to provide this facility which compromises the reduction of storage areas.
