Photography in forensic dentistry

Photography represents the best method of preserving and storing evidence in forensic cases. This paper reviews the history of photography and discusses the methods of taking a good evidentiary photograph. The types of cameras, lenses, light, and all types of artificial and natural lighting are discussed. Among the artificial lighting, a study on the flash is highlighted, indicating which is the best flash for forensic photography. The study of photography highlights its use in the field of general dentistry, but especially in the field of forensic dentistry. The general objective of our work is to know the general characteristics of photography in forensic dentistry. As a particular objective, we emphasize, above all, to know all the necessary elements to make a good professional photography.
