Beschreibung

We know that we eat to live, but what do we live to do? That is the question. This book is a study of the nature of the human being from the philosophical and theological perspectives. It looks at the human being from the social, moral, and religious perspectives; the good and the evil that religion is used to do to mankind, the phenomenon of death, seen from the philosophical and religious perspectives; what follows death according to philosophers and world religions, the predicament of the human being living on earth without knowing why he is here, the purpose of his life, where he is going or what will happen to him when he dies, like a traveler who does not know why he is traveling, where he is coming from, where he is going or what will happen to him when he gets there. The book evaluates some suggested solutions, each presented as a way out of the predicament, and concludes that since we did not bring ourselves into this world, the only way to know why we are here, the ultimate meaning and purpose of our lives on earth, is to turn to the Creator himself who brought us into this world and dialogue with him; he will tell us. This, in essence is religion; it is dialogue with God

We eat to live, but what do we live to do? That is the question. Has human life any ultimate meaning, purpose or goal?
