Pharmacokinetics of Ivermectin in Cattle Calves & Sheep

The book contains study of pharmacokinetics of Ivermectin (Ivermic super®, Noromectin® and Ivomec super®) 0.2 mg/kg b.w in cattle calves and sheep. The plasma concentration of ivermectin was determined by HPLC. The decay in plasma concentration of drug was biexponential in cattle calves and sheep. The Cmax value of 28.18, 32.31 and 33.38 ng.ml-1 was obtained at Tmax of 4.7,4.44, and 4.49 days in cattle calves, following SC administration of Ivermic super®, Noromectin® and Ivomec super®, respectively. The Cmax value of 17.93, 17.5 and 17.68 ng.ml-1 was obtained at Tmax of 3.3 days in sheep, following SC administration of Ivermic super®, Noromectin® and Ivomec super®, respectively. The elimination half life (¿_HL), volume of distribution (V1_F) and AUC were calculated as 19.18 days, 2.64 L.kg-1, 370.15 day.ng/mL and 24.59 days, 2.28 L.kg-1, 393.9 day.ng/mL and 16.9 days, 2.18 L.kg-1, 411.4 day.ng/mL in cattle calves , whereas 6.25 days, 4.11 L.kg-1, 161.8 day.ng/mL and 6.4 days, 4.19 L.kg-1, 159.3 day.ng/mL and 6.84 days, 4.174 L.kg-1, 163.2 day.ng/mL in sheep following SC administration of Ivermic super® Noromectin® and Ivomec super®, respectively.
