Personality Profile of HIV Positive Patients

This book presents a study of personality profile of HIV positive patients that is based on measurement of personality characteristics by 16 P.F., sensation seeking scale, quality of life and locus of control.Currently there are no set guidelines for measurement of personality correlates. Counselling in centres has begun to receive screening purpose of the population. Counsellors at Integrated Counselling and Testing Centres (ICTC) is dealing counselling and testing, partly in an effort to manage and address this problem. The investigator proposes to do research on the personality characteristics of the HIV positive patients. The research aimed to address this gap by analysing the personality differences between normal and HIV positive persons. It is clear from the results of this research that a link between susceptibility of HIV infection and certain socio-demographic characteristics, personality factors and dimensions, which plays a vital role in engaging in high risk behaviour resulting in this dreaded disease. This book will help to students, scholars, researcher, medical practitioners, counsellor, social worker, training institutions and HIV prone persons.
