A brief overview of Regional Rural Banks of West Bengal has been given in this work. The study begins with the concept of RRBs, its objectives, scope of activities, functions, procedural requirements, its history and organizational set-up. At the same time empirical studies of Regional Rural Banks in the context of West Bengal are also enumerated. The studies are entirely confined to the performance evaluation of RRBs together with framing of policies for measuring financial inclusion. The study finally ends with the prospects and challenges of RRBs, an outline of the limitations of the present study and a scope for further research.
