Pentecostal Practice and HIV and AIDS: A case of GT Church Zimbabwe

Issues around the interface between Pentecostal Healing practice and HIV and AIDS pandemic in Zimbabwe is of interest especially in this context of faith healing and charismatic movements¿ popularity. Emphasis on spiritual gifts and the claim that the fivefold ministry is still functional, most Pentecostal Movements regard Miraculous healing of any sickness and deliverance from demonic oppression as part of the Church`s pastoral ministry. However basing on the interviews from Masvingo the language of faith for any healing is key motivator for these miraculous healings through the Spirit. Based on such understanding most of the Pentecostal movements in Zimbabwe preach, claim and declare that HIV and AIDS can be healed by faith through the Spirit as part of the manifestation of the Spiritual gift of the Church. These Pentecostal approaches have resulted in the movement being popular and grow numerically. It also has created tension between the hospital structured model of health with regards to HIV and AIDS.
