Patterns of Agricultural Development in Rajasthan

Rajasthan is the largest state of India constituting 10.4 per cent of total geographical area and 5.67 per cent of total population of India (GOI, 2011). The state is divided into 7 divisions and 33 districts. About 65 per cent population (i.e. about 56.5 million) of the state is dependent on agriculture and allied activities for their livelihood.Agricultural development of a state is contributed by its districts. Each district of a state represents quite varying characteristics which have significant bearing on agricultural development of a district. This book was deals district wise cropping pattern , production pattern , yield variations and value of productivity patterns of different crops in Rajasthan state.This book discuss different drivers of growth of agriculture in state like fertilizer consumption,agriculture infrastructure, Irrigation potential and farm mechanization. This book attempts to made develop suitable indices involving appropriate indicators to measure the extent of disparity in agricultural development in the state of Rajasthan. This book is in initiative to point out the agricultural development problems with detailed analysis of different crops.
