Pakistani Literature is heading forth proudly towards establishing its identity. As such, research work on this budding literature is utmost significance for formulation of Pakistani canon and development of indigenous criticism which can genuinely come from indigenous researchers who share and experience the feel and sensibility of this literature. Metaphorical Language in Sara Suleri¿s Meatless Days by Ghulam Murtiza and Abdul Baseer is a part of the chain process of research which in a decade or so will establish Pakistani literature. Rigorous and systematic analysis of Meatless Days has brought out insightful understanding of Suleri¿s perception of life in Pakistani patriarchy. Work on one¿s native literature is a slippery practice as it may incline towards impressionistic and sweeping observations. This work is significant in maintaining objectivity in treatment of the subject.
