Objective: To characterize the diagnosis and treatment of patients with.Shock.Acquisition of evidence: A literature review of 20 articles retrieved from SciELO, Scopus, Clinical Key databases in the period from 2016 to 2020, in English and Spanish language, using the following words: shock, shock, sepsis, epidemiology, etiology, type of shock, diagnosis and treatment was performed.Results: Markers of severe shock are a tool for risk stratification, as well as goals or targets for early restoration of adequate tissue perfusion. Clinical monitoring of tissue oxygenation and organ function usually involves the measurement of traditional endpoints, which are a goal in the diagnosis of shock.Conclusions: We characterized the performance of diagnosis and treatmentOf the patient in shock.
