Parenting in Indian Defence Officers' Families

The defence services have a unique culture with various service related strengths and weaknesses which are likely to influence the quality of parenting and its perception by parents and adolescents. The present book is the result of a study that was carried out on defence officers¿ families in India, to understand parent adolescent perception of parenting and to find out discrepancies if any. Results help to break the myth that parenting in defence families is adversely affected and deters the youth from joining defence services.The support systems within the services seem to help families cope up with stressors and improve the parent adolescent perception of parenting. This book can help plan programmes and policies related to defence families and strengthen the parenting practices and family environment.
