One of the greatest challenge¿s humanities has faced throughout the course of history is the emergence of global disease outbreaks. As human society flourished, evidence suggests that increased international travel and integration, urbanization, and greater exploitation of the natural environment spread the infections far and wide. A pandemic is a term to describe an epidemic that has spread over several countries or continents, usually affecting a large number of people.The latest threat to global health is the ongoing outbreak of the respiratory disease that was recently given the name Coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid-19). The COVID-19 pandemic is considered as the most crucial global health calamity of the century and the greatest challenge that the humankind faced since the 2nd World War.
