Ovarian cancer is it a disease or a curse?

Globally, ovarian cancer is found to be one of the major gynaecologic terminal cancers. The main problem associated with ovarian cancer is the lack of an effective and sensitive screening test that can be used to diagnose the cancer at an early stage, which is mainly because of the nature and biologic behaviour of the disease. Another critical issue associated with this type of cancer, is the presence of a high chance for cancer relapse (i.e., recurrence), which in most of the time is associated with chemotherapy resistance. Therefore, this book attempts to present and specify the main tests that can be used to screen and diagnose the cancer and its stage. Moreover, it covers topics related with the main mechanism for relapse occurrence, and the main treatment options available for treatment of relapsed ovarian cancer.
