Orthodoxy as a Factor in Modern Russian Transformations

The analysis of the place and role of the religious factor and its influence on the social, political and spiritual life of society remains one of the important areas of modern science. In Russia, Orthodoxy is a culture-forming factor, Orthodoxy through Russian culture participates in the construction of the state and economy. Orthodox religion is a phenomenon that creates a matrix of behavior, forming a system of values in society, according to which a huge layer of social relations is formed. Orthodoxy in contemporary Russia claims a broader status than that of a spiritual institution. This aspiration manifests itself in an extensive discourse on many problems of Russian reality, including those that until recently were not in the focus of Orthodoxy: human rights, the building of civil society, modern economic development, and others.
