Organic Chemistry

Organic chemistry is a field of chemistry devoted to the study of carbon-containing molecules, including their structures, properties, compositions, reactions and preparation methods. It forms the basis of biochemistry, which is concerned with the study of naturally occurring molecules and their interactions. It has numerous applications in the industrial world (materials, dyes, drugs).The aim of this course, dedicated to organic chemistry, is to present the basic concepts of general organic chemistry. This textbook is intended for undergraduate and graduate students. It will also be of interest to students in other fields such as process engineering, the petrochemical industry, biology and pharmacy. No previous knowledge of organic chemistry is required.
