The oral cavity has been described as ¿the window to general health. Chronic health conditions create a massive burden on the health of individuals as well as the entire healthcare system.Systemic conditions are related, either coincidentally or causally, by oral conditions among which the most commonly encountered in children are like Tuberculosis, Scarlet fever, Leprosy, Diphtheria,Impetigo,Tetanus,Tularemia, and Syphilis.It has been found that systemic conditions can manifest in the oral and maxillofacial region and in the oral cavity, involving the dentition, soft tissues, bone, musculature and nerves.These relationships are obvious, but the significant impact and relationship of oral and serious systemic conditions are areas that call for increased collaboration. And as the oral cavity is also the intersection of dentistry and medicine, semi-independent professions that share the same common goal of improving the health and quality of life of patients, thus a coordinated approach between physicians and pediatric dentists in the diagnosis and management of these conditions is necessary to achieve optimal clinical outcomes.
