The term genodermatoses is applied to the relatively rare single gene disorders. Certain genetic disorders show their clinical manifestations due to influence of environmental factors. Those genetically determined skin disorders in the production of which environmental factors play no part are grouped together as the genodermatosis. Dermatological diseases, besides involving the skin, may also involve the oral cavity. The lesions of oral cavity in dermatological disorders deserve special attention, considering that they may be the presenting clinical feature or the only sign of these disorders.
