OPTION ZERO: Reduce overpopulation to 100 million

Option Zero is about the balance between population level and the rate of renewable and non-renewable resources on planet Earth. For human civilization to remain here unchanged for the next million years, the ideal population size must never exceed 100 million people. The same number of inhabitants as existed in the world at the time of the founding of the city of Rome. With that population rate, pollution is reduced by 99%, hydrocarbon reserves are sufficient for another 2,000 years and non-renewable resources for more than 10,000 years. When the population was 5,000 million in 1987, it consumed the equivalent resources of the entire planet per year. Now (2020), with 7.7 billion, it consumes at a rate of 1.7 planets per year, but if all of humanity lived as the Americans do, for example, it would take five planets. By 2030 it will be 2 planets that they will need to meet their consumption demands. By 2050 three and by 2100 six. Clearly, resources will run out in the medium term.
