Optimizing Dental Implant Esthetics

This book is a literature narrative of our experience with esthetic implant dentistry. Esthetics is a multidisciplinary discipline which takes roots from various core subjects in dentistry. A clear understanding of the general factors governing esthetics is hence a must when dealing with implants in the esthetic zone. Optimal esthetics outcomes can thus be achieved with interdisciplinary inclusion of the periodontist, orthodontist, oral surgeon, prosthodontist and the implantology specialist. Soft tissue parameters include and are not limited to the gingival biotype, gingiva thickness, gingival zeniths and various other factors. Hard tissue factors include and are not limited to implant site bone topography, bone density, adjacent root position etc. With digital dentistry optimal esthetic results can now be visualized and delivered with predictable success rates when offering implants in the anterior zone.
