Openness to ICTs and innovation capacity in SMEs

Nowadays, it is impossible to think of a company without the use of technologies, and innovation has become a determining factor in a company's competitiveness and performance, ensuring its permanence in a competitive market with changing needs. The purpose of this research is to determine the factors that influence the openness to the adoption of information and communication technologies (ICTs) and the capacity for innovation in small and medium-sized enterprises in Cochabamba, specifically in the industrial sector. The statistical data studied are the result of surveys of managers and executives working in an SME, thus, it was possible to respond to the hypotheses proposed, achieving the specific objectives of the research. The data analysis was done through the partial least squares technique, belonging to the structural equation model. The results obtained suggest that although the use of ICTs and innovation practices in SMEs in Cochabamba do not significantly affect their performance, they are essential to ensure their permanence in the market.
