Open Educational Resources for Teacher Education

Over the last few years, Open Educational Resources (OER) have emerged as one of the contemporary prominent knowledge-sharing platforms. New educational opportunities are arising in a digitally enhanced collaboration amongst learners. This collaboration could be a new platform for older socio-epistemic hierarchies and marginalisations or create an opportunity to bring down the barriers based on socio-economic dimensions of learners¿ accessibility to knowledge.OER represents the efforts of a worldwide community, empowered by the internet, to help equalize the access to knowledge and educational opportunities. This book probes into the interplay of OER in the process of teacher education, identifies the various problems encountered and provides some possible solutions. It explores upon the possibilities of OER as a tool for collaborative learning in teacher education. This is a field based Participatory Action Research which should interest all who engage with ICT and Education. It will help in exploring upon the educational possibilities and opportunities of OER for teachers and contribute to their continued professional development in diverse educational settings.
