Older People in Modern Russia

The life activities of the elderly are now becoming more complicated due to the problems of adapting to the new social situation. The book introduces the main changes in the social situation of the elderly, who in modern Russia, as well as in the world as a whole, are becoming an increasingly large group of the population. It deals with the main theoretical provisions and methodological approaches to the study of the problem, gives a characteristic of the elderly in the social structure of Russian society. Particular attention is paid to the analysis of personal and family resources, peculiarities of state social security, which determine the adaptability of the elderly to the renewing social environment.
