Occupational Therapy for Motor Control Rehabilitation

This paper investigates the relationship between the conceptual basis of occupational therapy and current activity-based intervention techniques for motor control rehabilitation in patients with acquired brain damage. The application of the principles of motor learning for the functional re-education of motor skills in patients with alterations in the central nervous system is currently being carried out through the use of activities, and there is sufficient evidence for its recommendation as opposed to the application of traditional techniques. These concepts related to control and motor learning give special importance to clinical practice conditions such as: feedback, context, activity and amount of practice.
