Nutritional status of the selected Antenatal women in South India

Vitamins and minerals are essential to healthy pregnancy outcomes.As an example folate,or folic acid,plays an important role at different stages of pregnancy and is critical in the development of the baby's brain and spinal cord.about2/3rd of pregnant women in india are estimated that they are suffering from iron deficiency anaemia.The total number of maternal death in 1995 for the world was estimated at 515,000. of these deaths nearly half(252,000)occurred in south Asia about 10 percent in East Asia and the pacific,6 percent in the middle East and North Africa and about 4 percent in Latin America and Caribbean. In this project investigation were the socio-economic status of the selected antenatal women,and asses the anthropometric clinical picture, know the food consumption pattern,bio chemical levels.
