Nutritional Status of Students in Public and Private Schools in Ghana

This book is about the nutritional status of adolescents, the extent of knowledge adolescents have about nutrition and how much, if at all they use that knowledge in choosing their food. This book examined the nutritional habits of adolescents and how that affected their nutritional status and to make appropriate recommendations to parents and the nation as a whole. A survey research was used in the study. Information was obtained from a sample of students from Private as well as from Public Schools through interviews and the use of questionnaire. The stratified random sampling technique was used in selecting the 200 respondents for the study comprising 112 males and 88 females from both schools. The study found that respondents who attended the Private School had parents who worked at the mines and as traders, while the majority of the parents of respondents in the Public Schools were farmers, and such difference had tremendous effect on the results.
