Numerische Mathematik

The second volume deals with proven numerical methods for solving analytical problems. The focus is on numerical techniques for one- and two-dimensional interpolation, least-squares approximation, and the calculation of derivatives and definite integrals of real functions. Furthermore, the most important methods for the numerical treatment of initial and boundary value problems for ordinary differential equations are presented. Many of these numerical methods are implemented as m-files for the MATLAB software environment, allowing readers to experiment with the numerical techniques on their own and experience their advantages and disadvantages firsthand on the computer.
