The intention of this book is to give insights on simulating a finite difference numerical model for a region situated well away from plate boundaries, and to develop the Response Spectra and Peak Ground Acceleration values for certain cities. The methods used in developing a numerical model to investigate the effect of variation of the bedrock profile on the seismic wave propagation through Sri Lanka are briefly explained.
