Novel approaches to Karbi Oral Literature

¿The monograph, NOVEL APPROACHES TO KARBI ORAL LITERATURE by Dr. Kamala Kanta Bori has been written on an important topic as too little reliable information on Karbi folklore has been published so far. The study by Dr. Bori introduces Karbi worldview and narrative traditions in a comprehensive and systematic manner, discussing different genres and forms of expression, such as, myths, legends, and other epic genres. The scope of the work is remarkable and it has a solid ethnographic basis. The author has done extensive fieldwork and recorded oral narratives from several informants. Hence, the study is also embedded in social realities and touches upon topical issues, such as, gender relations and empowerment of women.
