New trends in composite materials - Review

Engineering materials have decisive influence in the human being history. Stone era, Bronze era.etc are reflections of the materials in use during historical stages of human life development. In 1850¿s the steel came to be the major engineering material in use. During the mid twenty-century steel and other metallic materials continued to be the most important engineering materials. Since 1980¿s and to meet the new industrial needs, other engineering materials based on the concept of ¿composite¿ were introduced. Any two kinds of material could, in theory, be combined to make a composite. The new composite material has multiple excellent properties than any of the monolithic materials; it is called advanced materials or advanced composite materials.
