Using illustrations from the selected albums of these old-school musicians,the author boldly points to some significant aspects of the affinity between man and Nature. The monograph shows that Nature is the source of the artists' musical idioms. By extension, the monograph indicates that musical discourse in Nigeria is enriched by nature's phenomena. These nature's phenomena are explored by the musical artists as sign vehicles to promote their brands of music, to assert power and domination and to communicate social and moral messages.
