Narcotics and the Law

The Book highlights the menace of drug abuse and addiction at the International as well as Indian Scenario. It addresses the issue not only from the social aspect but from the legal perspective as well. The book provides insight into the historical framework of the legal control mechanism on the narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances at the international as well as Indian level. The book further elaborates extensively the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 which is the major law on Narcotics in India. it also highlights the role of the Indian Judiciary while interpreting various provisions of the Law on Narcotics in India. The book also features the empirical work conducted in the State of Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir of India and specifies certain suggestions to curb the menace of drug abuse and addiction.
