Bacopa monnieri(Family Scrophulariaceae) known as¿¿Brahmi¿is used for centuries as a memory enhancer,anti-inflammatory,analgesic,antipyretic ,sedative & anti-epileptic agent. Its memory enhancing effects have been attributed to the active constituent bacosides A and B.Considering its demand,tissue culture protocols are developed;however, they are not efficient, rapid and cost effective for production of secondary metabolites.
