N-doped Titanium Dioxide for Photocatalysis

TiO2 based photocatalytic process has a great potential as a low-cost, environment friendly and sustainable treatment technology to remove persistent organic pollutants from waste water. It has many advantages over conventional treatment technologies. The current book involves the study on preparation of N-doped TiO2 by wet method using titanium tetra iso-propoxide and NH3. The calcination was performed at different temperature. The prepared catalyst were characterised by DRS, FE SEM and TEM. The photocatalytic activity tests were carried out in a batch reactor. The batch reactor was equipped with a quartz cylinder. The UV and visible light emitting diodes were housed inside the quartz cylinder for illumination. The prepared photocatalyst was immobilised on outer surface of the quartz cylinder using heat treatment method. The photocatalytic test was performed to study the degradation of amaranth using the prepared photocatalyst.
