Movies of Karel Kachy¿a

The book named Problems of artistic and aesthetic value in the movie of Karel Kachy¿a deals with artistic value and aesthetic value in two movies of a director Karel Kachy¿a during years 1948-1968 in Czechoslovakia because this period is connected with expressive political changes which are forcefully reflected in movie and art in general. The book is based on analytical aesthetics and therefore movies will be considered according to the definition of an aesthetician Tomá¿ Kulka, who defines work of art and its aesthetic and artistic value. The aim of this work is to find out if both movies correspond with previously mentioned values and if it is possible to qualify them as a work of art.
