In which one of the causes of hip fractures in older adults are falls or stumbles, to this is added the risk factors including age, comorbidities and use of certain medications.The clinical picture is: groin pain, functional impotence, shortening and external rotation of the affected limb. While the diagnosis is based on physical examination, interrogation and an X-ray of the affected limb.The treatment will depend on the type of fracture and its location, among other factors such as age, comorbidities. Most fractures are treated surgically which consist of osteosynthesis or arthroplasty.
