Molar Distalization : A Review

One of the most common question faced clinically by Orthodontist is 'how to create space for correction of malocclusion'. Among the various methods presented in Orthodontics, one is posterior movement of molars to create space in the buccal segment for retraction of anterior teeth. Class II malocclusion with mild to moderate space deficiency in the maxillary arch can be effectively treated with molar distalization. Various appliances has been mentioned in the Orthodontic literature to distalize molar. However, every appliance has its own advantages and disadvantages. Present book provides a detailed description about history, classification of distalization methods, description of appliances along with advantages and disadvantages.
