Modeling Climate Change Impact on Water Resources of Northern Nigeria

Global water resources are under heavy stress owing to the amplified climate change impact that is ascribed, directly or indirectly to human actions which alters the composition of the global atmosphere over comparable time periods. This impact in northern Nigeria is visible from the declining river flows and reservoir storage, drying up of wetlands and aquifers, as well as lowering of water tables. Therefore, this book becomes inevitable as it modeled the 21st century impact of climate change on Water resources of the region, through the application of Global Climate Models (GCMs) with Representative Concentration Pathways (RCPs). This provided first-hand information that will guide policies development in climate change adaptation and mitigation measures.
