Methods of seismic resistance analysis of subsea pipelines

Methods of seismic resistance analysis of structures with consideration for marine environment influence are reviewed. A method for setting of seismic forces' influence on offshore pipelines based on the probabilistic approach is suggested. Damage of offshore oil-and-gas pipelines results in significant pollution of the marine environment. Requirements to the structural reliability of subsea pipelines are much stricter than those set to underground and overhead pipelines. It is related to the greater corrosive power, significant mechanical impacts, and difficulty of repair works. The pipeline failure rate after earthquakes increases almost without exception, however, pipeline operation departments do not always associate the failure rate increase with an occurred earthquake.
