Metals Substituted M-Type Hexaferrites Nanoparticles

Hexagonal ferrites are the class of materials called ferrimagnetic, and their intrinsic magnetic behavior is associated with their crystalline structure. A unique property common to all hexaferrite is magnetocrystalline anisotropy (MCA). The purpose of the present research is to come up with simple and economical synthesis process and characterization of Bi, La, Y and Zn substituted M-type ferritesThese metals are selected because of their similar ionic radii with the host ions and also due to their lattice preference which could incite enhancement in magnetic behavior of the synthesized product. A previously unknown material will be produced with tailored properties, wich might be a potential candidate in an application like electric sensors, isolators, modulators, circulators. The simultaneous increase in saturation magnetization and a decrease in coercivity due to the doping will yield an important suitable candidate for high-density magnetic recording application.
