Metabolic Diseases in Dairy Cattle in Khartoum State, Sudan

The book is about methods for detection of Metabolic Diseases in Dairy Cattle in Khartoum State. Compton test was applied to detect levels of Total Protein, Albumin, Globulin, and Minerals (Ca, K, Na, Mg and P) in blood of dairy cattle. A total of 70 blood samples were collected from empty and pregnant cows in different stages of lactation. Total protein, Albumin and Globulin were measured using a digital colorimeter and kits (biosystem kits) in the laboratory of college of Veterinary Medicine, University of Bahri. Minerals measured using biosystem estimation kits and spectrophotometer in Central Veterinary Laboratory (Soba). Total protein results were different from the standard mean in low and high producer dairy cows at early stages of pregnancy, medium producer dairy cows at mid stages of pregnancy and low producer dairy cows at late stages of pregnancy. Albumin results were different from the standard mean. Globulin results were different from the standard mean. Minerals results showed no differences from the standard mean.
