Menstrual hygiene management is a taboo in Ethiopian culture and it is not being discussed among family members. There was shortage of literature and research on this area. After going ups and down the author completed the proposal. While collecting the data from the girls they were afraid of even seeing each other due to the societal taboo. Boys were laughing at them when they exit the interview room. At the time of presentation many of the author's friends were laughing at him due to the culture of talking about the menstrual hygiene while they were males. Finally the author succeeded and some of the professors have appreciated him for dealing with this sensitive issue.
